The State Enterprise «Delta Lotsman» has been established to improve the maritime safety and to streamline the structure of the marine pilot services in the North – Western part of the Black Sea.

Types of Activity: maintenance and operation of hydraulic structures – canals (Bug – Dnipro – Liman canal (BDLC), Kherson Marine Canal (KMC), Deep water fairway (DWF) «Danube – Black Sea»), pilotages and VTS services at all the ports of Ukraine (from Mariupol to Reni).

The enterprise has a specialized fleet – 20 pilot boats, 2 sounding boats, ice-class tugboat «Gaydamaka».

The number of employees is about 1480 persons.

In 2008 the SE «Delta – Lotsman» received the Certificate of the National Certification Body of Ukraine (the Shipping Register of Ukraine), that proves the conformity of the quality control system to the requirements of the DSTU (State Standards) ISO 9001 – 2001.

By the order of the Ministry of transport and communication of Ukraine, the SE «Delta – Lotsman» acts as a customer of the design and construction work of the Project on the DWF «Danube – Black sea» through the Bystroe mouth. This project that is called «Maliy Bosphor» will provide an opportunity to renew superlarge vessels navigation on the Ukrainian site of the Danube along the route of the 7^th international transport corridor. Today, the Ukrainian and foreign vessels with the draft 5,50 m can navigate through the Ukrainian deep water fairway through the Bystroe mouth with the much lower rates comparing to the Romanian canal rates.
